Fifty eight reviews.
Not one of them
under five stars.
Main Street Electric is a licensed and insured electrical contractor working out of Burnaby. Repairs, rewiring, lighting, heating and home automation, for homes and small commercial spaces across the Lower Mainland.
A perfect rating is hard to earn and easy to lose. Ours has survived every single job we have been reviewed on.
Six things we get called for, week in and week out.
Residential and light commercial. If the job needs a permit, we pull it. If it needs an inspection, we meet the inspector.
Repairs & troubleshooting
Breakers that will not stay in, outlets that died overnight, flickering that comes and goes. We chase the actual fault rather than swapping parts until the symptom stops.
Rewiring & renovations
Kitchen and bathroom renovations, basement suites, additions, and older Burnaby homes still carrying cloth wiring or aluminum. Rough in through to trim out, with a panel schedule you can read.
Lighting & fixtures
Pot light layouts, under cabinet lighting, chandeliers on high ceilings, outdoor and landscape runs, and dimmers that actually match the LEDs you bought.
Heating & baseboard replacement
Old baseboards swapped for modern units, smart thermostats wired in properly, and dedicated circuits for heat pumps and wall units so nothing shares a breaker it should not.
Home automation
Smart switches, cameras, doorbells and hardwired networking, set up so it still works when the wifi drops and so the next owner can figure it out without a manual.
Small commercial
Shops, offices, restaurants and tenant improvements around Metrotown and East Vancouver. Evening and overnight work so your doors stay open during business hours.
You should know roughly what it costs before you call.
Nobody enjoys asking what an electrician charges. Here is the honest range, so the phone call starts somewhere sensible.
A small job
$150 to $300One or two outlets, a switch, a light fixture, a fan swap. Usually one visit, usually under two hours.
A half day
$400 to $900A run of pot lights, a dedicated circuit, a bathroom fan and heater, a smart switch package.
A project
Quoted flatSuites, renovations, rewires and commercial fit outs. One written number before we start, permits included.

The same faces, every time.
A small crew is why the reviews read the way they do. You get the person you spoke to, not whoever was free.

Asked before nearly every booking.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Coming out to look and giving you a written price costs nothing. You only pay once you have agreed to the work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Main Street Electric is a licensed electrical contractor carrying full liability insurance, and every job that needs a permit gets one under that licence.
Can you come out today?
Often yes. We answer the phone around the clock and keep space in the schedule for urgent calls in Burnaby and East Vancouver.
My house is from the sixties. Is the wiring a problem?
Not automatically. Older Burnaby homes often have cloth wiring or aluminum branch circuits, both of which are workable once they are properly assessed. We can inspect and tell you what genuinely needs replacing and what does not.
Do you work with insurance or strata claims?
Yes. We can provide the written scope, photographs and invoicing that insurers and strata councils ask for.
Something not working? Let us look at it.
Speak to the electrician who will actually do the job, not a call centre. Free estimate, upfront price, no surprises on the invoice.
